1. What is an All Access Pass?
Depending upon where you live, an All Access Pass allows you to watch every televised match with English commentary from the 2007 Heineken Cup, Super 14, June Tours, Tri Nations, Currie Cup, and Air New Zealand Cup either LIVE or on an 18-hour delay, and afterwards as an on-demand download whenever and wherever you want. An All Access Pass costs $99.99 and is good for one year from date of purchase. Plus you can go back in time with our comprehensive 2006 SANZAR archive to watch classic encounters. You can also buy competition specific packages or individual matches on a pay-per-view basis. The All Access Pass does not include the 2007 Rugby World Cup. Detailed information on Rugby World Cup availability and pricing will be posted in February.

2. Once I buy my All Access Pass, how do I watch the matches?
The main MediaZone Rugby page will list the current and previous week's schedule of matches. To access these games, click on the one you want to watch and you'll be taken to that individual game page. From the area for subscribers below the main picture, choose either the 'Live Stream' or the 'Download' button. You'll then be asked to sign in with your email address and password, and will be automatically directed to either the Windows Media Player or a download box. For matches not listed on the main page, click on the icon of the competition you're interested in on the left hand side of the site, then select the round in which the game was played, then click on the specific match. For 2005 fixtures, click on the MediaZone Rugby Archive button and follow the above procedure.

5. In what language are the broadcasts?
All programs come with an English commentary.

6. What are the system requirements?
The minimum requirements for MediaZone are:
  • Windows OS: Windows 98 SE, ME, 2000, or XP
  • Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher with cookies enabled (default setting)
  • Windows Media Player 9 or higher
  • For Streaming: Broadband connection (Speed of 500 kbps or higher)
  • Dialup connection is not recommended for this higher bandwidth offering.

7. Do you support the Macintosh or Linux operating systems?
Regrettably at this time, you cannot watch MediaZone's live events or other entertainment using the Macintosh or Linux operating systems due to Windows Media Digital Rights Management (DRM) lack of support for these operating systems.
However, MediaZone strongly believes in providing users of these operating systems with the opportunity to use our service and is participating actively to discover the solutions and develop the workarounds. Please check back periodically and make your wishes known with Apple and Microsoft.

8. Do I need a broadband Internet connection?
A broadband connection is required for viewing live events. You can use either dial-up or broadband to connect to the internet and view archived files. For dial-up users, it is recommended that you choose the download option for the optimal viewing or listening experience

9. How do I play my streams or downloads?
If the file you've purchased is a download, the file will be downloaded to your hard drive and will play in your Windows Media Player. If the file you've purchased is a stream, the file will begin playing in your Windows Media Player. The downloaded files are usually in a higher 700Kb file format than the streamed versions. Note: If you have downloaded the file, be sure to start viewing it while you are still connected to the internet, so the security can be verified by asking for your login details. After entering your login details you can view the content at leisure without an internet connection.

10. How do I buy or subscribe to a game?
When you click on the Watch or Download button, a small window will pop up asking for your username and password. If you're not already registered, you will be prompted to register. During the registration process, you will need to provide your credit card information. Once you've registered, MediaZone will confirm your purchase and your media file will be accessible to you.

11. Is my credit card transaction secure?
You can rest assured hat your credit card information is secure because MediaZone uses SSL (Secure Sockets Layer), a highly sophisticated online encryption service for transporting your credit card information.

12. What am I allowed to do with the matches that I download?
You can view the matches as often as you like for the license period, which is 1 year from date of purchase for both the All Access Pass and competition specific packages. A pay-per-view license lasts for 1 week from date of purchase. What you can't do is use them in any way for commercial gain.

13. Can I watch them on my TV set?
MediaZone invites you to use the following settings to watch these games on your television. However, the MediaZone technical and billing support team does not provide chat/email support for this feature.

Depending on the type of connection your PC has, you can take the steps listed below to view programming. Please consult your local electronics retailer to learn more about the components needed for viewing.
Composite Video
Most DVD equipped computers have this setup. The outputs are usually located at the rear or side of computer; the video output is color-coded yellow and the audio output, or line-out, is the 3.5mm jack usually indicated by this icon

S-Video
Newer computers may have an S-video connection. In order to use this feature, your TV must also have an S-Video input.

Audio Output but NO Video Output
If you have an older video card, you may not have a video output that can be directly connected to your TV. In this case, you will need to utilize the VGA port on your computer, which is the connector that's attached to your PC monitor.

14. How do I know what quality the media play will be?
MediaZone works with each partner to present to you the highest quality media experience while balancing file size and bandwidth requirements. The streaming rate for rugby is 500kbps and the download is usually encoded a in higher 700Kbps format. Free sample previews can be viewed here.

15. Nothing's happening after I try to register. How come?
You'll need to turn off the pop up blockers. You can either turn them off or hold down the Ctrl-key while clicking register.

16. How do I know if I will see buffering or not?
Bandwidth depends on your Internet Service Provider. It can be affected by network traffic and other users at your location. We recommend you test your service to make sure it will support the webcasts. Our program is streamed at 500 kpbs, but we recommend at least 550kbps for a quality experience.
To ensure you the best possible service:
   1. Do a web search for "test dsl connection" to find sites where you can test the speed and quality of your connection.
   2. Turn off any other programs that are sharing your connection like other browser windows and email programs.
   3. Re-start computer to close other programs that may be running in the background

17. When will the downloads be available?
Downloads will be after each game is played (roughly 2 hours later).
